The Samsung Q1b system is featured with the Windows XP Operating System, 512 MB of memory, 7" 800 X 480 of display, WLAN 802.11b/g and lots more. You could easily connect your Samsung Q1b system to an external monitor. External monitor constitutes of a flat panel display, CRT or a projector. Connecting these to the system is very simple because there is a 15-pin connection on the back of your system. Always try to use a VGA with all pins. Else when you are trying to connect with less number of pins, it might freeze your system during automatic display detection. To ensure a successful connection of your system to the external monitor, you need to keep in mind some important things.
The following are some of the things to be kept in mind while connecting an external monitor to the Samsung Q1b system:
- Avoidance of interference
- Ensure connection to the right port
- Verification of cable connection
Avoidance of interference
You must also make sure that your Samsung Q1b system is not being interfered by microwaves or mobile phones. Some speakers might also cause interference problems. Hence, try to keep your desktop speaker as far as possible from your system. This is because high frequencies might damage the display of the external monitor and the picture quality.
Ensure connection to the right port
Connect one end of the VGA cable to the VGA port of your Samsung Q1b system and the other end to the monitor. Some monitors have both the DVI and VGA ports. So, ensure that you are connecting to the right port and also note down the pins of the port. This is because, when it has fewer pins it might freeze your Samsung Q1b system. There must be at least eight pins in the port to get a better display. Moreover, proper connection is necessary for proper display.
Make sure that the cable is connected properly. With the help of a self-test screen you could know whether the connection is proper or not. In case you are unable to follow the test screen despite the monitor receiving the necessary power, adjust the contrast ratio. Also, clean the cable only with the help of an electronic cleaner. Avoid the use of cable extenders as it might reduce the picture quality and the power supply.
