Guidelines for restoring Windows 7 in the Samsung P460
System Restore is an option to restore your system to its previous working order. This is an option that was available from Windows XP onwards. But this has some limitations in Windows XP and Windows Vista. In these two earlier versions of Operating Systems you needed to perform the restore each and every time which was time consuming. Also, it is not possible to access the System Restore files. System Restore in Windows 7 solves all problems and also adds some extra features. The restore utility is coupled with the backup utility in the Windows 7 restore option. In order to execute System Restore, login as the system Administrator and choose the ‘System Restore’ option from ‘All Programs’ from the ‘Start’ menu. Click on the ‘Restore’ button and select the restore point to which you want your system to return to. Once System Restore is complete and the system starts to work properly, then the restoration is successful. Else, you need to cancel System Restore by selecting the ‘Undo’ option.
You need to keep some points in mind while performing the restore process in the Samsung P460:
- Create recovery disc
- Create program backup
- Turn off the antivirus program
Create recovery disc
You can also restore the Windows 7 Operating System on your Samsung P460 using a recovery disc. You need to go to the ‘System and Security’ option from the ‘Control Panel’ and then choose ‘Create a system recovery disc’. Create a recovery disc by inserting a blank CD or DVD. After creating the disc, you can use it for restoring Windows 7 Operating System on your Samsung P460. You need to reboot the system and then allow the system to load from the recovery disc.
Create program backup
There might be changes that can befall the programs that have been installed on the Samsung P460. While restoring your system to a previous point, the system might remove programs that were installed past a particular restore date. If you wish to install the programs after the system restore has been performed, then you will need to backup the program files and run them after the System Restore has been completed.
Always use an updated version of an antivirus program to perform the complete scan of your Samsung P460 and make sure you turn off the antivirus software after updating it. Sometimes the antivirus software might block the process of System Restore; therefore it is recommended to turn off the antivirus program before starting the System Restore process.
