It is more fun in using the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 when you do not want to type onscreen. Logitech has launched a wireless keyboard dedicated completely to the tablet, which gives you the same old feel of a laptop keyboard. The keyboard has been originally developed by ZAGG. Given its functional ease, it is a very handy accessory for the Galaxy Tab.
The keyboard has a sleek aircraft-grade brushed aluminum tray and the Galaxy tab fits very snugly and safely in its high-density pad-cushioned docking slot, be it the portrait orientation or the landscape one. It has a rechargeable battery that runs for weeks and can be recharged from USB ports. The first time the keyboard is used, it has to be paired with the Galaxy tab. Next time onwards, it automatically connects to the device as soon as its Bluetooth is turned on.
There are shortcut keys on the keyboard dedicated to cut, copy, and paste. Other dedicated quick access keys include launch e-mail key, web browser, and contacts keys. There are Home and Return buttons to take you back to the home screen immediately. The media control buttons operate the music player and volume. The keyboard also supports a unique Android-based Logitech Keyboard Config App. The app updates the settings on the Samsung Galaxy Tab to facilitate special shortcut keys for Android 3.0+ devices.
There are few things to be noted while you use the keyboard. If you use a third-party onscreen keyboard, the Logitech keyboard does not work with that. It would turn it back on Galaxy’s default onscreen keyboard when you pair up the device.
The Logitech Keyboard for Galaxy Tab 10.1 priced at $99, comes with a 6-inch USB to micro USB charging cable. So any day, if you do not want to carry your laptop to work, you always have an option.
